Artist Statement: 

The art piece above represents what my personal logo would look like if I had one! I had first begun this project by sketching many ideas of what my logo might look like, simple but effective in its overall message to represent myself. When picking the sketch for my logo, I used Adobe Illustrator with the Pathfinder and Pen tool to create this sleek look, ensuring every shape apart from the overall logo had perfect size and alignment. Ultimately, I devised three different colorways that speak volumes about what the logo means to me. The idea behind this logo is more complicated than some might think. 

In this life, I've always been walking this straight line. A straight line where I progress as a human through the stages of life, doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing. But now I believe life needs to be lived differently than this. Life should never be a straightforward line such as the umbrella with the rain (my logo) where, of course, when it rains…you use an umbrella. But this logo is showing the opposite of that. The rain is falling to the inside of the umbrella, messing up the overall idea of keeping you dry from the water. This itself is telling the idea that Life may not always work the way you want it to, so living in this straight line will only make it harder to let things go and move on.

Life needs to be lived differently; go out there and do things. Don't live on this line where there's a solution for everything. Do something fun or different. You only get one life, and this logo represents that we need to take advantage of it without this straight line holding us back!
