Three B/W-to-color Images:

I’ve been working on my first project using Adobe Photoshop for the past two nights. At the same time, capturing photos of myself that reflect my connection to the world and how it is expressed in my way. Using this photo, I turned it Black and White using the feature on Adobe Photoshop. Once this was complete, I picked three color scales using the Adobe colors page. I went to work to make all three using Square, Complementary, and Triad color scales. The process for all three color scales was the same.

First, I use the quick selection tool to cover a particular area of the picture, for example, my shirt. Once the selection was made, I created a new layer with a layer mask, where I then used the eyedropper tool to pick one of the colors on my color scale that I wanted to use for the specific area I was covering in my picture. Once that area was covered with the color, I lowered the opacity and made corrections using the paintbrush tool to color in the small cracks I missed or to backtrack and fix the areas that didn’t look clean. I would be finished once I had done this with all five colors in different regions of the picture. To complete it all, I put the layers into one folder and moved on to the following color scale. Once all three were complete, I returned to them and implemented the name of the color scale, a screenshot of the colors used in the picture, and my tag brush using an extended portion of the photo on the bottom.

The idea behind the photo and the project go hand in hand. While doing this project, I thought about what it truly meant. The idea that the world is a beautiful thing. Everyone should experience being in touch with nature and witnessing the planet's beauty. Simply take some time to unwind, breathe fresh air, and appreciate your independence, your home, and the planet's beauty. You learn to value the little things by doing this. It's about reconnecting with the small things in life. This image demonstrates gratitude for the simple gift of life. In addition to showing how large the world is and how small a simple individual can be inside it, the image also represents how I see myself. I encourage you to see this as a good thing.
